Protest and Outrage: Dark Poetry for the Cruellest Month, 2017

Are you ready to protest darkly and bare your poetry in outrage? Good, because I’m ready to delight in your poetic fist shaking (and share my own).

Welcome to Dark Poetry for the Cruellest Month. As explained on this year’s announcement post, “the phrase ‘protest and outrage’ might nudge our minds towards socio-political thought, but this event is not about politics” (unless that’s what your muse wants). Your dark poetry should explore any topic that rattles your heart’s cage. Let your art show us what you feel.

To participate, leave a comment with the title of your poem and a direct link to your entry. Just like this: “Ugly Is Manmade” – http://magalyguerrero.com/. I shall add the name to the Darkly Outraged Poets list (at the end of the post), as they come in.

The (somewhat) Boring (but necessary) Wee Notes…
1. You can post a new poem every day of the party (I reserve the right to delete links to poems that fail to meet our deliciously dark protest and outraged theme).
2. Be respectful with your poetry and your comments. This doesn’t mean that your tone can’t be fiery. Just keep in mind that this is a civil poetic exchange, not a brawl.
3. Visit other outraged poets. Read deeply. Comment with heart… and brain. Have a blast.
