Seven Dark Haiku and a Basket Full of Yum

By crafting birthed of soul and heart
and the turning of mind-gear,
infused with memories and with love spiced,
Witches in Fiction dances near.

It’s true, my Wicked Luvs… October 17th, and with it, Witches in Fiction 2015… Death Rites and Remembrances is almost here. I’m so excited about this blog party; for I’ve glimpsed some of the yumminess you’ve conjured for the occasion, and I can barely wait for the feast. But before our full blown celebration of the memories of our dead starts, we have a sixth giveaway:

pre-Witches in Fiction 2015, sixth giveaway, is a virtual basket sponsored by Magic Love Crow, Rhissanna, Touch of the Goddess, and moi.

The lucky Wicked Darling to win this giveaway, will take home an 8” x 10” painting, a tea set suitable for dolls, a bottle of smudging mist, a $31 credit for any of the participating shops, and a copy of my three books (if you own my books, we can transfer them to a friend). I’ve listed the contents of the virtual basket below, preceded by a haiku… follow the individual links to learn more about each item and/or its creator:

“Evermore”, by Magic Love Crow

Here is how to enter this giveaway: in a few sentences, tell me what comes to mind when you read the phrase “Death Rites and Remembrances”. For one extra entry, visit Magic Love Crow, and come back to tell me a bit about a painting you liked. For a second extra entry, stop by Rhissanna’s shop, and come back to tell me which of her creations you liked best. For a third entry, fly over to Touch of the Goddess, and come back to let me know what caught your eye. For a fourth extra entry, follow my blog via email. For a fifth extra entry, tell me three words that come to mind after reading one (or all) the haiku preceding my 3 books. Wishing for a sixth extra entry? Share this post on Facebook (tag me, Magic Love Crow, Rhissanna, and Touch of the Goddess). Yes, with 7 items in the basket, you should get a 7th extra entry… and you will, if you add these words at the end of your comment: “Magaly, do throw my name into your witchy cauldron!”

Giveaway Rules, details and stuff…
* I need to be able to contact the winners. If you don’t have a website or social media profile, through which we can interact, then please add your email to your comment. If your name comes up, and I have no way to contact you, I will choose another name.

* You can group all your entries in a single comment—or not… the choice is yours.

* To my Canadians, before you can claim your prize, I must test your mathematical brilliance by asking you a very obscure question, such as… what’s 13 + .5? Yeah, obscure…

* All Witches in Fiction 2015 giveaways will end on October 20th, 2015, at 10:13 pm, EDT. The winners will be chosen using Random.Org, and announced on October 21st, 2015.

* Every item in this giveaway is open worldwide, except the “Clean and Clear Smudging Mist”, which will ship only to the US (If the winner resides outside the US, then I’ll choose a second name for the smudging mist). This giveaway excludes any place where prohibited by law.

This is the last pre-party posts. Witches in Fiction 2015… Death Rites and Remembrances will be here on October 17th. You can still join the celebration, just click the link.

  1. WooHoo! What a party!
I think my piece is finished, but I am a tweaker! LOL
Since I own your books and the smudge mist is mine, I shall forgo entering. I do hope to own a Stacy piece one day! I have something going with Rhissanna for later. So, good luck everyone!

  2. I guess I think of the ones I’ve lost so far, but I also keep in mind that perpetual mourning is not the way they’d want to be remembered. So while there may be some sad, there’s always some sweet too.

It’s hard to choose from among Rhissana’s tea sets but I think the seeming innocence of the blue juxtaposed with the skulls makes me smile the most. Her dolls are pretty amazing. One of these days I may have to commission one!

That cute little crow witch is adorable! She’s got such a mischievous grin for an cute ball of feathers, and those shoes certainly say, “Don’t be fooled by my sweet exterior – I mean business!”

The mixed media Muse of Dark Passion has always appealed to me. She’s lovely!

Hmm…I thought about the words I could use, and decided that instead of three disparate words, a three word sentence would do best – Darkness saves Light.

The post has been shared and “Magaly, do throw my name into your witchy cauldron!”

  3. Dreamweaver is my favorite MLCrow. The smudge mist is my pick in the Touch of the Goddess (wonder if it would help this sinus lurgy trying to settle in :/ ) . I love Rhisanna’s tea sets (would fill mine with honey/lemon/mint tea 😉 ). Following your blog via email. Three words: raven cast memories (in a word: runes).
“Magaly, do throw my name into your witchy cauldron!”

  4. Oh I hadn’t seen that painting by Stacy!!! I haven’t entered any draws this time as I already have so much love from you all already. Been a bit poorly so way behind with my offering this year. Know that I am still thinking of you all just the same, and looking forward to “thinking” clearly again soon XXX

    • It’s wonderful, isn’t it? All feeling and yum…

I was starting to wonder, if you were all right. Even my Piano Man was wondering… I hope you can leave the “bit poorly” behind very, very, very soon. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ (13 hearts and a CWS makes everything and everyone better 🙂 ).

  5. I need this stuff in my life!

And what comes to mind for me is Death Midwifery.. I am on my way to becoming a death Midwife myself, so it really speaks to me about this decision and the practices I Will be doing.

Since I’m Canadian my answer is 13.5 🙂

  6. Well, right now I am very happy just to be able to VIEW the phrase ‘Death Rites and Remembrances’ – because after you and me hung up yesterday our internet went down, and we didn’t get it back until an hour ago. I was frantic on the phone with the broadband company earlier today, them saying it might be until Wednesday before we had it back..!

I always loved Rhisanna’s Dark Alice, but it’s not in her shop! The Embodied Nature Muse at Touch of Goddess is purple and lovely 🙂

I don’t know why but your haikus made me think “She’s such a cutie” today 🙂

Dear Magaly, do throw my name into your witchy cauldron!

    • Thank goodness all you can focus on the “Remembrance” part already. Not having Internet (especially for those of us who don’t get out much is really tough *and by “us” I mean “me” lol*).

  7. When I see “Death Rites and Rememberances”, I immediately think of love and loss. I think of bone and ash, blood ties carried away by the wind. I think of lost loved ones, their smiles and touch. As for the giveaway, (which sounds awesome, by the way) here are my extra entries: At MagicLoveCrow, I was especially taken with the painting Magical Brew. Being a crow-loving witch, the vibrancy of the painting really stood out to me. At Rhissanna’s shop, I was charmed by the Wedgewood style Jasper wear Coloured White Rabbit Dolls Tea Set. I love skulls and skeletons! At Touch of the Goddess, I fell in love with the Indigo Dream Jar. I am also following your blog. After reading the haiku, all I could think was: cold, pain, loss. I have shared this blog on my Facebook page, with names tagged, as well. “Magaly, do throw my name into your witchy cauldron!”

  8. This is so a basket full of YUM! All these goodies and I truthfully think Evermore is Stacy’s best work to date! All these shops have so many goodies, basically the whole shops could be classed as ‘favourites’ but these stood out a little more today… Stacy’s ‘Dreamweaver’ spinning magic 😉 Rhissanna’s ‘Conjoined Ravens’ what a tease, so intrigued at what the commissioned piece will emerge looking like, now ‘touch of the Goddess’ gotta say so much awesomeness but LOVE the idea of banishing negativity with the ‘Smudging Mist’!
    Haiku’s (yep love ’em)
    1.Power within…
    2.Secrets exposed…
    3.Life Transformed
“Magaly, do throw my name into your witchy cauldron!” Please 🙂

  9. I just want to say, I received the Touch of the Goddess spray today! It smells divine, and there were even a few extra “goodies” in the box, along with a coupon, as well! Thank you to Ms. Guerrero and Touch of the Goddess!
