The Forest Speaks to Her

pre-Witches in Fiction Giveaway, 2: Herbal Healing Salve, Love the Girls (breast massage oil), Florida Water, Prosperity Spray, and Rue Water, sponsored by Three Cats and a Broom

The forest speaks to her. When she walks into her garden at dawn, the sun shines an ear towards the blood fueling her wild heart, and waits for growing things to welcome their witch. “What will we brew today”, the green things chant to their witch. Luck? Mirth? A bit of lust? A lot of love?” The witch smiles at Primrose and Dandelion, feels Violet caress her skin… and says, “Today, my sweets, we reap, we crush, we boil, we change, we give… we spell healing.” And they do.

a wee note on healing…
– Whenever I write about Rue—wild girl… lover of green—my heart fills with ease. It’s not just that she can craft healing magic out of herbs, but… there is something wondrous about her voice, about the way she approaches Nature. If you win this giveaway, you’ll experience what I mean right on your skin. Until then, fly over to her blog. Read her words, and you might find yourself equally bewitched. Jen Rue exudes living magic. She also shares her yum on Facebook.

  1. I could definitely use the ‘Herbal Healing Salve’ right now, with little kitty scratching me red every day… In her shop I really like the sound of ‘Sweet and Spicy Chai’ room spray.

‘In her garden she picked the herbs
    – thyme, lavender, mint and sage
Their healing ways spoke to her,
    this modern but powerful mage.’

  2. Ms. Rue’s healing salve is a staple here at Casa de Cuckoo. So soothing and the smell just spells, “you’ll be all better very soon”. As to “Love the Girls”, well mine just love the boobie love.
I picture the herby love Ms. Rue preforming this kind of magick on all she does.

She waves her hand and love, kindness and healing form a aura of comfort that envelops her brews, then sends them to the deserving.

  3. Each one sounds delightful, but the healing salve would get heavy use around here!

My story offering is a brief retelling of a Celtic tale:

Airmed weeps over her brother’s broken body
Each tear that falls springs forth into herbs of healing,
Gifts to the world, borne out of grief.

  4. Please enter me.
I am curious about “Love The Girls” too! Are we talking about our boobies??? Maybe they will give them an uplift? I need that 🙂 LOL!
I went over to Rue’s shop and I like Big Black Cat oils 🙂
    The answer is 13.5 🙂

  5. I’ve done a bit of shopping at her shop, but haven’t picked up her Florida Water blend yet, so I’m curious about that.

    Here’s my story:

    “A story of healing?”
The herbs nodded their heads in the late fall wind that had become so familiar.
“Yes, we will tell all. Will you listen?”

I have always been fond of her strewing herbs. It makes me so happy to use them.

  6. Enter me please. Already have the healing salve and it is wonderful. At this point prosperity is much needed :)….Black cats are always great too.

  7. Love the girls, without doubt, most intriguing concoction on the planet. And I’m certain the girls would enjoy their monthly BSE muuuuuch more with this titillating tincture (sorry, simply could not resist saying titillating….oops said it again. Don’t care, marvelous word, titillating. Third time’s the charm!!!)
